Download and keep your favorite YouTube videos
YouTube – and other streaming video sites – do not allow you to download video to keep. Here is how to do it:
- Go to the KeepVid website http://www.keepvid.com/. Type in the URL of the YouTube video you want to download.
- Click
and the video will be downloaded to your computer. - For more convenience, drag the KeepVid bookmarklet to your toolbar:

- KeepVid adds a toolbar button
to your browser window. Just click that and download the video you are watching.
You can use it to download and keep all videos and embedded objects on a webpage such as movies, mp3s, flash, quicktime, etc. from sites like
Youtube, Google Video, Facebook, Digg, Blip.tv, and Music.com.
Note: make sure you understand the YouTube.com Terms of Service. You may copy content for personal use so long as you do not (1) distribute it further (i.e. no torrents) and (2) do not alter copyright notices.
